Churchill Safaris was founded in 2000 by Ether J Birungi, a certified accountant who gauged the potential of Uganda as a major East African tourism destination. Born and raised in Uganda, Ether’s passion for her country and commitment to detail convinced visitors from all over the world to explore East Africa for themselves. The company has since grown and established offices abroad and built 3 small eco-friendly safari lodges while remaining a truly home-grown, Ugandan effort.

Churchill Safaris has been revered over the past 23 years and turned into one of the leading providers of tailored and group safaris across Uganda and Rwanda. Focusing on individuals, families, and small groups we can cater to any client, providing in-depth product knowledge and personalized service. We are focused on experiential travel and also scaling up our efforts towards the conservation and sustainability of Uganda’s natural and cultural resources through actively supporting local and community tourism initiatives and social-economic activities in the destinations we cover. Through this practice we have come up with a project dubbed pack for a purpose through which visitors can give back to local communities during their stay in a more sustainable way.
